          Saudi religious leader blasts Hizbullah

A top Saudi Sunni cleric, whose ideas inspired Osama bin Laden, issued a religious edict Saturday disavowing the Shi'ite guerrilla group Hizbullah, evidence that a rift remained among Muslims over the fighting in Lebanon.

Hizbullah, which translates as "the party of God," is actually "the party of the devil," said Sheik Safar al-Hawali, whose radical views made the al-Qaida leader one of his followers in the past.

"Don't pray for Hizbullah," he said in the fatwa posted on his Web site.

The edict, which reflects the historical stand of strict Wahhabi doctrine viewing Shi'ite Muslims as heretics, follows a similar fatwa from another popular Saudi cleric Sheik Abdullah bin Jibreen two weeks into the conflict with Israel.

"It is not acceptable to support this rejectionist party (Hizbullah), and one should not fall under its command, or pray for its victory," bin Jibreen said at the time. That fatwa set off a maelstrom across the Arab world, with other leaders and people at the grass roots level imploring Muslims to put aside differences to support the fight against Israel.

There have been daily demonstrations in support of Hizbullah around the region, including in predominantly Sunni and generally pro-western countries like Jordan.

Even the Saudi government, which initially condemned Hizbullah for sparking the fighting by kidnapping two Israeli soldiers in "uncalculated adventures," backed down and said it warned the United States the region would be headed toward war unless Washington halted the Israeli attacks.

Last week, al-Qaida deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri issued a videotape that urged all Muslims everywhere to rise up in holy war against Israel and join the fighting in Lebanon and Gaza.

Mohammed Habib, deputy leader of Egypt's largest Islamic Sunni group, the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, immediately rejected al-Hawali's new religious edict, saying Hizbullah is defending "the whole Islamic nation."

Al-Hawali is receiving medical treatment in Jeddah and could not be reached for comment.

In remarks published Saturday, Kuwait's prime minister, Sheik Nasser al-Mohammed al-Sabah, also warned that if the conflict does not end soon, it could give rise to new radicals.

"I believe that if this Israeli war on Lebanon goes on, it could contribute to creating new terrorists, and that of course would pose a new danger in the area," he told Egyptian magazine el-Mussawar.

Lebanese report: Hezbollah planted disabled children in basement to die

A French language Lebanese publication, citing an unnamed source in Hezbollah, has claimed that the organization placed a rocket launcher on the roof of the notorious building in Qana to provoke an Israeli attack and brought invalid children inside to serve as victims and blacken Israel's name.

The Lebanese magazine LIBANOSCOPIE, associated with Christian elements which support the anti-Syrian movement called the "March 14 Forces," report that Hizbullah masterminded a plan that would result in the killing of innocents in Qana, in an attempt to foil Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's "Seven Points Plan" calling for deployment of the Lebanese army in southern Lebanon and the disarming of Hizbullah. The magazine reported:

"We have it from a credible source that Hezbollah, alarmed by Siniora's plan, has concocted an incident that would help thwart the negotiations.... Hezbollah gunmen placed a rocket launcher on the roof in Qana and brought disabled children inside, in a bid to provoke a response by the Israeli Air Force. In this way, they were planning to take advantage of the death of innocents and curtail the diplomatic initiative," the site stated.

The site's editors claimed that Hezbollah staged the event because of Qana's symbolic significance: "They used Qana because the village had already turned into a symbol for massacring innocent civilians, and so they set up 'Qana 2'." The incident has indeed been dubbed "The second Qana massacre" by the Arab media.

The scenario described, which has yet to be confirmed by a named source, would explain the fact that the victims were not residents of the building and also the disproportionate number of small children and the lack of adult males among them.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Red Cross reported on Monday that only 28 bodies, 19 of them children, were removed from the rubble. The count is half that of the 50-60 bodies still being reported by news agencies, quoting Lebanese security officials.

Israel Insider was among the first publications to draw attention to mounting evidence of a "Hezbollywood" production in which the terror group used children as sacrificial lambs to blacken Israel's image and turn world opinion against the Jewish State.

KFAR GILADI, Israel - Hezbollah guerrillas fired a barrage of rockets across northern Israel Sunday, killing 10 people at a communal farm and wounding eight in the worst attack on Israel since fighting erupted July 12.

One rocket landed near the entrance of the communal farm of Kfar Giladi on the border, killing all 10 victims. Channel Two television reported that nine reserve soldiers were among the dead, and television footage showed a soldier holding his head in grief.

"It was a direct hit on a crowd of people," said Dan Ronen, the chief of the northern police command Ronen told Army Radio the Katyusha barrage was the most intense in 23 days of fighting with Hezbollah.

Black smoke rose over the town and convoys of police, military and rescue vehicles raced through the kibbutz. A group of people ran through a field toward a military helicopter, carrying a stretcher with an injured man wearing a bloody bandage and a respiration bag.

"The scene is very difficult. It can be described as a battlefield," said Shimon Abutbul, a rescue worker who was one of the first to arrive in the area. "There was a lot of blood."

"We saw difficult scenes in the days of this fighting. This is the worst I have seen," he said, adding that the rockets also hit cars.

A nearby forest burst into flames from the barrage and huge plumes of gray smoke rose into the air.

The barrage of at least 80 rockets lasted more than 15 minutes. More rockets were fired as rescue workers tried to treat and evacuate the injured.

Many of the rockets hit the nearby town of ***yat Shemona, damaging a synagogue and sparking a series of fires, Mayor Haim Barvivai said. He called on all residents to remain in their shelters because more barrages were sure to follow.

The strike was the worst attack in the fighting, surpassing the eight people killed in the city of Haifa on July 16. It brought the number of Israelis killed in the fighting so far to 89.

The attack came hours after the U.S. and France agreed on the framework for a U.N. Security Council resolution that seeks a full halt to the fighting in Lebanon.

The document charts a path toward a lasting peace along the border, with a cease-fire monitored by international troops, but ignores Lebanese demands for a timetable for Israel's withdrawal from the south and for Israel to lift a blockade of the country.

Despite the agreement, Justice Minister Haim Ramon said Sunday that Israel would continue its attacks on Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon.

Ramon, who is close to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, said the draft resolution was good for Israel, but the country still had military goals to meet in Lebanon.

"Even if it is passed, it is doubtful that Hezbollah will honor the resolution and halt its fire," Ramon told Israel's Army Radio. "Therefore we have to continue fighting, continue hitting anyone we can hit in Hezbollah, and I assume that as long as that goes on, Israel's position, diplomatically and militarily, will improve."

The fighting began July 12 when Hezbollah guerrillas crossed the border and attacked an Israeli army patrol, killing three soldiers and capturing two others. In response, Israel launched a widescale offensive of airstrikes and ground attacks. Hezbollah also has fired thousands of rockets into Israel. At least 660 people have been reported killed in the violence.

Israel said its offensive is aimed at weakening Hezbollah and pushing the militia away from the border so an international force and the Lebanese army can take its place.

Ramon said that even if the U.N. passed a cease-fire resolution, Israel would not withdraw from a buffer zone miles deep in south Lebanon until the international force arrived.

"There is no doubt that until a multinational force arrives ... Israel will remain in the security zone it is in now, and no one can act against Israel," he said.

The draft U.N. resolution emphasized that Israel retained the right to defend itself, and Ramon said that would allow the country to take pre-emptive action against guerrillas preparing to attack.

"If we see there are launchers who are going to fire Katyusha (rockets) at Israel, we have the right to respond," he said.

Mohammed Fneish, a Hezbollah member of the Lebanese government, said the guerrillas would not stop fighting until all Israeli soldiers left Lebanon.

                    Innocent people?
How many times do we have to explain. Why do people keep using the excuse "OMG ISRAEL KILLS KIDS AND INNOcent PEOPLE!!"
But these are the same people that refuse to comment on the palestinians using kids as suicide bombs. They ignore the fact that they have NO IDEA if the people that died were "innocent people" or hezbollah terroist since they read from a one-sided biased media called the BBC.

Israel warned these people to go to northern lebanon and get away from Hezbollah terroist. If "innocent" people did die then it is by accident. When american soldiers accidently kill kids, you don't hear these peoople say "USA IS FULL OF KID KILLERS" But when the jews are doing it they are outraged.

How about this, antisemetics- don't think of these people as jews nor gentiles. But think of them as humans. One side is trying to live in pecae while the other side is throwing rockets into a nation.

Captured Hezbollah terrorist trained in Iran

A Hezbollah fighter captured by Israel has told interrogators he received training in Iran and arrived there on a flight from Syria, a tape of the interrogation released by the Israeli army showed yesterday.

During questioning the man also said he took part in the cross-border raid on July 12 in which two Israeli soldiers were captured, the incident that sparked the current conflict.

"We trained in Iran," the man, who gave his name as Mahmoud Ali Suleiman, told the interrogator. "We went from Beirut in civilian cars ... to the airport in Damascus."

Suleiman, who gave his age as 22, said between 40 and 50 people went with him for the training, which involved instruction in the use of anti-tank weapons. He didn't say when the training took place or how long it lasted.

The tape shown on Israeli television appeared to be heavily edited, and some answers were cut off in mid-sentence. He appeared to have light bruises or wounds on his cheeks and lips.

I keep reading letters and articles of people who are unilaterally against the current regime in Iran. However they are crying for Lebanon. I would like to pose the question, The actions of which party in Lebanon has caused the current situation?

It is Hezbollah, this is not a Lebanese organization. It is funded and rooted in Iran, with the beginning of the Islamic Revolution. People want to be moral relativists when they see war so they are comfortable with their positions. The reality is MORAL ABSOLUTISM. You are against Hezbollah and what they stand for you need to be intellectually honest and responsible and be against Hezbollah and what it has done to Iranian citizens and Israeli citizens.

I have lived in both Iran and Israel, regardless of my religion, Hezbollah was a terrifying experience in both. They murder innocent men women and children every day whether by blowing them up in the streets of Tel Aviv, Jerusalem etc.. or the prisons of Iran, most recently Akbar Mohammadi in Evin.

We have to see why Israel is attacking, they didn't wake up one morning and just start attacking. The Hezbollah party moved into Israel proper and kidnapped an Israeli soldier, we waited a period of time and demanded his release and the common response was is not 1 life worth another life lets exchange. However, that 1:1 ratio was one soldier whom we have no confirmation of life for in exchange for 100's of PRISONERS, who have done g-d knows what to Israels state of security. Also recall prior to exchange of fire we met with multiple heads of state.

Ehud Olmert is a strong leader and he has started something and g-d willing he will see it to its conclusion. An Israeli Fire-fighter recently putting out a fire in a high school in Haifa broke down and cried.. he said why does Hezbollah hide behind its women and children why? Why do they use them as shields it is a truth. The artillery is in their homes and their garages and their cars. Why do they hate Israel so much? Why they are not Palestinians they have economic issues as well as social.

They are brainwashed to be ammunition for this disgusting organization. As mothers knowing they have children it is their responsibility to not affiliate with such groups, to not live amongst known murderers. It may seem easier said than done but when it is a matter of life and death you choose life and your children's future.

Israel is being hit by Katusha rockets every day in the hundreds... do not believe they were not being hit by these rockets before this invasion it just has not made the international news, remember these are rockets found in homes, and garages. Ask yourself honestly if it was another country not Israel and not Jews protecting themselves against the hated Hezbollah what would your reaction be?

Iran's Hezbollah party has arms as far out as Sub-Saharan African countries, it has caused enough civil unrest for Iraq, enough is enough. Many of you can't stand walking past pictures of Ayatollah Khomeini in the streets of Iran but you are crying for those who have his pic up all over their streets and would fight in Iran and they have against Iranian citizens, there was an influx of non Iranian pro Hezbollah basijis in Iran, at the heights of the revolution they beat our women in the streets they harassed our youth. Please by all means be Anti-Israel and support those bastards.

Or be Honest and a MORAL ABSOLUTIST and say this is war it is a terrible tragedy but it has happened because of Hezbollah who has terrorized enough people.

The terrorists started it and once again Israel is forced to defend itself in order to just survive.

What would it be like if all your neighbors wanted to destroy you and your family? You would think, that according to the drive-by media that Israel attacked its neighbors and are a war mongering nation, when in fact it was their soldiers that were killed and kidnapped on Israel's own soil.

Everytime they give in to the terroists and give back teritory they gained the last time they were attacked they end up getting kicked in the teeth once again by the international community. All the while the UN stands by doing nothing, not even enforcing their own resolutions. Just fix the problem Israel. If your neighbors want to openly destroy you and preach this everyday in public then finish them off while you have the chance and before the holocaust round two becomes a reality. If you don't your enemy's certainly will some day.

What major attacks is Hezbollah responsible for?

Hezbollah and its affiliates have planned or been linked to a lengthy series of terrorist attacks against the United States, Israel, and other Western targets. These attacks include:
                              a series of kidnappings of Westerners in Lebanon, including several Americans, in the 1980s;
                              the suicide truck bombings that killed more than 200 U.S. Marines at their barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1983;
                              the 1985 hijacking of TWA flight 847, which featured the famous footage of the plane’s pilot leaning out of the cockpit with a gun to his head;
two major 1990s attacks on Jewish targets in Argentina—the 1992 bombing of the Israeli Embassy (killing twenty-nine) and the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center (killing ninety-five).
a July 2006 raid on a border post in northern Israel in which two Israeli soldiers were taken captive. The abductions sparked an Israeli military campaign against Lebanon to which Hezbollah responded by firing rockets across the Lebanese border into Israel.
1996 bombing of the Khobar towers.

Hezbollah, a Shiite terrorist organization based in South Lebanon, began its latest campaign against Israel on July 12, 2006, when it entered Israeli sovereign territory and killed eight Israeli soldiers, kidnapped two others and began launching rocket attacks against Israeli cities.

In response to Hezbollah's continuing attacks, which have killed and wounded scores of civilians so far, Israel has resolved to remove the Hezbollah threat from its border and cripple the military capabilities of the group, whose goal is the destruction of the Jewish State.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Hezbollah, claimed the kidnapping was planned five months ago in order to force Israel to trade Lebanese prisoners for the soldiers. Nasrallah also pledged further "surprises" for Israel.

The last time Hezbollah carried out a similar operation against Israel was in October of 2000, when an Israeli business man and three Israeli soldiers were abducted. Hezbollah released the businessman and the bodies of three soldiers in 2004 in exchange for more than 400 prisoners and 59 bodies of Lebanese fighters.

The arsenal that Hezbollah is using against Israel illustrates the extent to which the terrorist group has succeeded in acquiring weapons from Iran and Syria, which have backed the group since its founding in 1982.

Despite the Israeli army's withdrawal from its buffer zone in South Lebanon in 2000, Hezbollah has refused to relinquish its arms and continues to attack Israel. For its part, the Lebanese government refers to Hezbollah as a "national resistance group," despite the fact that Hezbollah's continued activity in South Lebanon is a violation of UN Resolution 1559.
