Real Madrid's new coach Bernd Schuster expressed relief on Tuesday the Spanish giants have lost their star players - Los Galacticos - and can concentrate on being a European force again.

The 47-year-old German took over as Real Madrid coach in July and has been busy making changes behind the scenes now Real have waved goodbye to star players England's David Beckham, France's Zinedine Zidane and Brazil's Ronaldo.

Despite a side boasting some of Europe's best footballers, Real went three seasons without winning the Spanish title before Schuster's predecessor Italian Fabio Capello guided them to top spot last season - though he was sacked shortly afterwards.

The German is keen to build on that and has been making some no-nonsense changes behind the scenes: checking the players diets and insisting senior players room with younger players while away.

"Defeat is not something often seen at Real," Schuster told German magazine Sports-Bild.

"The club is swarming with world-class players. Nevertheless the Galacticos like David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo have gone - thank God.

"I have felt in conversations with key people that the side's high-profile reputation hindered them, so I am glad a sense of normality has returned, as well it should be."

But Schuster's home-coming was spoiled on Tuesday night as he lost his first game back in Germany when a weakened Real Madrid side were beaten 3-0 by Bundesliga side Hanover 96.

Having led 1-0 at the break in front of a 45,683-strong crowd thanks to Hungarian Szabolcs Huszti's goal on the half-hour mark, Hanover wrapped up the comfortable win with second-half goals by Icelandic striker Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson and a Benny Lauth strike with eight minutes remaining.

It was a weakened Real side with strikers Ruud van Nistelrooy and Brazilian Robinho - who was impressive in the Copa America - nowhere to be seen.

Hanover open their Bundesliga campaign against Hamburg on August 11.

As Bayern Munich's record signing, Franck Ribery has wasted no time paying back the faith his new employers showed when they secured his services for a cool 26 million euros this summer.

After last season proved to be their worst for 11 years, Bayern opened the cheque book to bring some of Europe's finest talent to Munich with Ribery as the jewel in what they hope will be their 21st crown as German champions.

Bayern paid French side Marseille a reported 16 million euros, with 10 million to follow in 2008, as the 24-year-old Frenchman signed a four-year contract in June, the day after he helped destroy Georgia in Paris during a Euro 2008 qualifying game.

He wasted no time impressing his new club, scoring three goals in his first two games, as Bayern won the pre-season German League Cup.

In a recent poll, 54 per cent of German sports magazine Kicker's readers believe Ribery will be the Bundesliga's new star, but the devout Muslim and impressive saxophone musician has no interest in the limelight.

"I do not want to be the team's huge superstar," Ribery said.

"I would like to work hard, settle in my job, have fun and give the fans something to celebrate. And I want a title."

So do Bayern, desperately.

After Bayern lost German captain Michael Ballack on a free-transfer to Chelsea in the summer of 2006 the German giants struggled without a midfield general and there is immense pressure on Ribery to fill that role.

It showed most in Bayern's defeat at home to eventual-champions VfB Stuttgart late last season when having gone 2-0 down, the Munich side had no one to take them by the scruff of the neck and lead the fight back.

Having learnt his trade in France's lower leagues, Ribery was snapped up by French giants Marseille in 2005 after a brief five-month stay at Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Ribery had two successful seasons at Marseille, putting in the sort of performances that attracted the interests of Real Madrid and Arsenal as France made the 2006 World Cup final.

After Marseille finished second in the French Championship last season, Bayern were convinced they had the man to fill Ballack's boots and Ribery will line up alongside talented Bastian Schweinsteiger and Dutch hardman Mark van Bommel.

The trio have the potential to forge a formidable partnership and Bayern have brought in top-class strikers who will benefit from good service.

Italian World Cup winnner Luca Toni, 30, was bought from Fiorentina and, once he recovers from a knee injury, will partner Miroslav Klose, the top-scorer at last year's World Cup.

Klose was signed from Werder Bremen, while Brazilian veteran Ze Roberto is back after a season back-home with Santos, and Bayern have the attacking potential to win their Bundesliga title at a canter.

Ribery may not like it, but if Bayern win the league and lift the UEFA Cup, the Frenchman is, injury permitting, almost guaranteed to be the star in their midst.

VfB Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez was on Wednesday voted Bundesliga player of the year for 2007 for propelling his club to the title with 14 goals last season.

The lanky Gomez, 22, polled 196 votes in the Kicker magazine poll of sports journalists to finish ahead of Werder Bremen's Brazilian star Diego, who received 175 votes, and German veteran Bernd Schneider of Bayer Leverkusen (156).

Stuttgart coach Armin Veh was an easy winner of the Coach of the Year award with 449 votes for leading his unfancied side to their first Bundesliga title for 15 years.

Nuremberg coach Hans Meyer was second with 221 votes after his club won the German Cup for the first time in 45 years by beating Stuttgart in the final.

The 2007-2008 Bundesliga season kicks off on Friday when Stuttgart play host to Schalke 04.

پايگاه خبري راديو دولتي آلمان به مناسبت آغاز اين مسابقات، نوشت: اين مسابقات با ديدار تيمي براي دفاع از عنوان قهرماني آغاز مي*شود كه فصل پيش در صف مدعيان كسب عنوان قهرماني قرار نداشت.

اشتوتگارتي*ها و مونيخي*ها

جالب توجه آنكه در اين فصل نيز اشتوتگارتي*ها، مدعي شماره يك براي كسب عنوان قهرماني محسوب نمي*شوند. اين*بار هم چون فصلهاي ديگر، اين تيم بايرن مونيخ است كه بيش از تيمهاي ديگر براي به دست آوردن عنوان قهرماني خيز برداشته است.

مونيخي*ها در فصل گذشته يكي از تلخترين دوره*هاي خود را در بوندسليگا ( (Bundesligaتجربه كردند و با قرار گرفتن در رده چهارم جدول پاياني از حضور در رقابتهاي جام قهرمانان باشگاه*هاي اروپا محروم ماندند.

كسب مقام چهارم براي بسياري از تيمها موفقيت محسوب مي*شود، اما نه براي بايرن مونيخ كه در ساليان گذشته، پاي ثابت ليگ قهرمانان اروپا بوده و در سال ۲۰۰۱حتي عنوان قهرماني اين جام را از آن خود كرده است. با توجه به نتيجه نامطلوب فصل گذشته، مديران باشگاه بايرن مونيخ دست به تغيير و تحولات اساسي زدند و از يك سو به همكاري خود با بازيكناني كه از عملكرد آنان راضي نبودند، پايان دادند و از سوي ديگر مبلغ هنگفتي را خرج خريدن ستارگان جديد كردند.

بازيكنان جديد بايرن مونيخ
بايرن مونيخ در اين فصل مجموعا ۷۰ميليون يورو صرف خريد بازيكنان جديد كرد. فرانك ريبري، هافبك تند و تيز و تكنيكي تيم ملي فرانسه، لوكا توني مهاجم تيم ملي فوتبال ايتاليا، زي روبرتو هافبك تيم ملي فوتبال برزيل و ميروسلاو كلوزه، يكي از بهترين، اگر نه بهترين مهاجم آلماني در حال حاضر، شماري از ستارگاني هستند كه قرار است با درخشش خود، روزهاي موفق گذشته را به مونيخ بازگردانند.

به ويژه فرانك ريبري كه بايرن مونيخ در ازاي انتقال او مبلغ ۲۵ميليون يورو به مارسي پرداخت كرد، در طي تنها چند ديدار نشان داد كه تا چه اندازه مي*تواند كيفيت بازي مونيخي*ها را بالا ببرد. از بركت بازي عالي و گلهاي تماشايي اين فرانسوي جوان بود كه بايرن مونيخ توانست چندي پيش عنوان قهرماني جام ليگ فوتبال آلمان را براي ششمين بار از آن خود كند.

ستاره برتر فصل آتي
ناگفته نماند كه ريبري در حال حاضر گرانترين فوتباليست بوندس*ليگا محسوب مي*شود. ۹كاپيتان از ۱۸كاپيتان بوندسليگا در نظرسنجي نشريه ورزشي كيكر، ريبري را ستاره برتر فصل آتي خوانده*اند.

فيليپ لام، مدافع جوان تيم ملي فوتبال آلمان و باشگاه بايرن مونيخ درباره ستاره جديد تيمش مي*گويد: ريبري فوتباليستي فوق*العاده است. شيوه بازي او شاهدي است بر اين امر. او در حال حاضر يكي از بهترين بازيكنان جهان محسوب مي*شود.

اوتمار هيتسفلد سرمربي بايرن مونيخ نيز معتقد است كه حضور ستارگاني از اين دست، باعث افزايش محبوبيت تيمش شده است.

وي مي*گويد: بعد از نقل و انتقالاتي كه تيم ما انجام داده، طبيعتا نوعي رضايت و شادي هم در آلمان از آمدن اين ستارگان درجه يك به بوندس*ليگا ديده مي*شود. در واقع هر يك از تيمهاي بوندس*ليگا از اين روند بهره مي*برند.

البته بيتشرين استفاده را خود مونيخي*ها مي*كنند كه با داشتن چنين ستارگاني اولين عنوان خود را در آستانه فصل جديد به دست آورده و به كسب عنوانهاي ديگر از جمله قهرماني بوندس*ليگا، قهرماني جام حدفي و قهرماني جام باشگاه*هاي اروپا، يعني جام يوفا اميد بسته*اند.

تيم*هاي رقيب مونيخي*ها
اگرچه بايرن مونيخ بزرگترين مدعي كسب عنوان قهرماني فصل جديد تلقي مي*شود، اما ديگر تيمهاي صاحبنام ليگ دسته اول فوتبال آلمان به هيچ وجه قصد ندارند، به همين راحتي تسليم مونيخ شوند و ميدان را بدون هيچ مقاومتي به اين تيم واگذارند، از جمله تيم شالكه كه در ديدار فينال جام ليگ فوتبال آلمان ۱بر صفر مغلوب مونيخ گرديد. حتي اوتمار هيتسفلد سرمربي بايرن مونيخ عليرغم شكست شالكه در فينال اين جام متذكر تاكيد مي*كند: شالكه با قاطعيت نشان داد كه در فصل جديد نيز مي*تواند رقيبي مهم در كسب عنوان قهرماني باشد.

شالكه كه در فصل گذشته به*عنوان نايب قهرماني بوندس*ليگا دست يافته بود، اميدواراست كه به*رغم بلندپروازيهاي مونيخ بتواند، پس از انتطاري ديرينه، عنوان قهرماني بوندس*ليگا را به دست آورد.

ميركو اسلومكا سرمربي شالكه در آستانه فصل جديد از خود اعتماد به نفس نشان داده و مي*گويد: ما تيمي قوي هستيم و به گمان من از قدرت رقابت با تيمهاي ديگر برخورداريم، حتي با بايرن مونيخ.

با آنكه شالكه هم موفق شده است، چند بازيكن پرتوان را به خدمت خود درآورد ، اما با رفتن لينكولن، كارگردان برزيليش، يكي از مهره*هاي مهم خود را از دست داده و تلاشهايش براي يافتن جانشيني مناسب نيز نتيجه بخش نبوده است.

وردر برمن
تيم وردر برمن كه در فصل گذشته در رده سوم جدول پاياني قرار گرفته و اين شانس را دارد كه در دور نهايي رقابتهاي ليگ قهرمانان باشگاه*هاي اروپا حضور دارد، با توجه به انتقال مهاجمش كليديش ميروسلاو كلوزه به بايرن مونيخ، يكي از ستونهاي اصلي خود را از دست داده، اما توانسته است با خريدن كارلوس آلبرتو هافبك تهاجمي و جوان تيم ملي فوتبال برزيل، گامي مهم در راه تقويت كادر پرسنلي خود بردارد.

جالب توجه آنكه تيم اشتوتگارت مدافع عنوان قهرماني بوندس*ليگا تنها تيمي در ميان تيمهاي بالاي جدول است كه پول زيادي براي نقل و انتقال بازيكنان جديد و تازه نفس خرج نكرده است. سوي اشتوتگارت، شالكه و وردر برمن، تيمهاي ديگري نيز هستند كه با تقويت تيمشان، قصد دارند راه بايرن مونيخ را براي رسيدن به*عنوان قهرماني تا آنجا كه ممكن است، دشوار كنند.

يكي از اين تيمها وولفسبورگ است كه سرمربيگري آن را فليكس ماگات مربي پيشين بايرن مونيخ برعهده دارد. وولفسبورگ كه تحت پشتيباني مالي شركت معروف اتومبيلسازي فولكس واگن قرار دارد، با خريدن بازيكناني توانا، از جمله اشكان دژاگه، هافبك ايراني تبار جوان، مي*تواند براي ديگر تيمها خطرآفرين باشد.

ديدارهاي سه روز اول
روز جمعه دهم ماه اوت توپ بوندس*ليگا به گردش درمي*آيد و اولين ديدار چهل و پنجمين فصل از مسابقات ليگ دسته اول فوتبال آلمان ميان اشتوتگارت و شالكه برگزار خواهد شد، يعني ميان قهرمان و نايب قهرمان فصل گذشته! در روز شنبه (يازدهم اوت) شش ديدار انجام مي*گيرند از اين قرار هستند:
بايرن مونيخ در خانه خود به مصاف هانزا روشتوك خواهد رفت و بوخوم نيز ميزبان برمن خواهد بود. باير لوركوزن به مصاف كوتبوس و وولفسبورگ نيز به مصاف بيلفلد خواهند رفت. تيم هانوفر به همراه وحيد هاشميان، ملي پوش ايراني خود ميزبان هامبورگ و اينتراخت فرانكفورت كه در اين فصل مهدي مهدوي كيا را به خدمت خود در آورده ميزبان هرتا برلين خواهند بود.

در روز يكشنبه دوازدهم ماه اوت نيز دو ديدار باقيمانده نخستين هفته از رقابتهاي بوندس*ليگا ميان تيمهاي نورنبرگ و كارلسروهه و دورتموند و دويسبورگ انجام خواهد گرفت.

نخستين بازي مهدي مهدوي كيا با پيراهن آينتراخت فرانكفورت در بوندس ليگا با پيروزي اين تيم همراه بود.

به گزارش خبرگزاري دانشجويان ايران (ايسنا)، در بازي هاي نخستين هفته از چهل و پنجمين دوره ي بوندس ليگاي آلمان آينتراخت با تك گل آماناتيديس ميهمانش هرتابرلين را شكست داد. مهدوي كيا در اين ديدار 86 دقيقه در ميدان حضور داشت.

هانوفر هم در روزي كه وحيد هاشميان مهاجم ايراني اش را از ابتداي نيمه ي دوم در زمين مي ديد، با يك گل بازي را به هامبورگ واگذار كرد تا هيچ سودي از اين بازي خانگي نبرده باشد.

در ديگر ديدار ها بايرن مونيخ با زوج جديد و رويايي اش در خط حمله سه بر صفر هانزا روشتوك را در آليانس آره نا شكست داد. دو گل از كلوزه و يك گل از توني هيچ بختي براي ميمانان تازه راه يافته به بوندس ليگاي يك باقي نگذاشت.

برمن هم هفته ي نخست بازي ها را با تساوي دو بر دو در خانه ي بوخوم آغاز كرد.

مسابقات فصل جاري بوندسليگا، جمعه شب با توقف اشتوتگارت مدافع عنوان قهرماني اين مسابقات در خانه خود در برابر شالكه ۰۴آغاز شد.

به گزارش خبرگزاري*ها از برلين، شالكه در حاليكه تا دقيقه ۷۶دو بر يك از حريف خود در ديدار افتتاحيه اين فصل عقب بود در اين هنگام موفق شد به لطف گل " ايوان راكيتيچ " به تساوي دو بر دو دست يافته و در امتياز بازي شريك شود .

راكيتيچ ذخيره جوان استثنايي شالكه هفت دقيقه پس از ورود به زمين زننده گل تساوي بخش تيمش شد .

پيش از به ثمر رسيدن اين گل توسط راكيتيچ بازيكن ۱۹ساله كروات كه در فصل تابستان از باشگاه بازل سوييس به شالكه پيوسته است ، اشتوتگارت موفق شده بود با به ثمر رساندن دو گل ظرف چهار دقيقه ضمن جبران يك گل خورده از حريف خود دو بر يك پيش بيفتد.

" آرمين وه " سرمربي اشتوتگارت پس از مشاهده از بين رفتن پيشتازي تيمش در اين ديدار از نتيجه نهايي چندان خوشحال نبود .

وي گفت :" ما خوب بازي كرديم ، ولي من از نتيجه راضي نيستم چرا كه بازي بيشتر تحت كنترل ما بود . "

وي گفت :" پيروزي در اشتوتگارت به طور باورنكردني دشوار است. آنها از يك تيم با كلاس برخوردارند.

اشلومكا افزود :" من خوشحالم كه با كسب يك امتياز از اينجا مي*رويم چرا كه اشتوتگارت در نيمه دوم بسيار فعال بود و ما مدتي است كه رنگ پيروزي را در اينجا نديده*ايم."

پیروزی تیم مهدوی کیا در اولین هفته بوندس لیگا


بایرن مونیخ در این فصل با ترکیب میروسلاو کلوزه و لوکا تونی، خط حمله قدرتمندی دارد
فصل 2007-2008 لیگ دسته اول فوتبال آلمان، بوندس لیگا، با پیروزی پرگل تیم بایرن مونیخ و نیز پیروزی اینتراخت فرانکفورت، تیم جدید مهدی مهدوی کیا، آغاز شد.
در اولین دیدار فصل جدید، اشتوتگارت و شالکه، قهرمان و نایب قهرمان فصل پیش، در زمین اشتوتگارت به مصاف هم رفتند که این بازی با نتیجه مساوی 2 بر 2 به پایان رسید.

در دیگر دیدارهای این هفته تیم اینتراخت فرانکفورت، که در این فصل مهدی مهدوی کیا کاپیتان تیم ملی ایران را در اختیار گرفته است، در زمین خود با یک گل هرتا برلین را برد. مهدوی کیا تا دقیقه 86 در زمین بود.

تیم بایرن مونیخ نیز در زمین خود 3 بر صفر هانزاروشتوک را برد. گلهای بایرن مونیخ را لوکا تونی و میروسلاو کلوزه (دو گل)، دو مهاجم جدید این تیم، به ثمر رساندند.

تیم هانوفر نیز در حالی که در نیمه دوم وحید هاشمیان، مهاجم ایرانی، را در زمین داشت با یک گل مغلوب میهمان خود هامبورگ شد.

VfL Bochum survived a late fightback from Hamburg SV to claim a 2-1 home win on Friday and maintain their unbeaten start to the Bundesliga season.

Stanislav Sestak put Bochum ahead at the end of the first half and Hamburg hopes of a third straight win were further hit when Vincent Kompany was sent off with half an hour to go.

Daniel Imhof doubled the Bochum lead with a long-range blast in the 83rd minute before a Rafael van der Vaart penalty three minutes later gave Hamburg brief hope of a rescue act.

Victory for Bochum took them into provisional top spot with seven points from three games. Bayern Munich are second with six points from two.

Bayern, the only side still with maximum points, will be strong favourites to go clear at the top on Saturday when they host Hanover 96.

Hamburg were well on top in the first half but poor finishing let them down. Mohamed Zidan created and missed the best chance when he jinked his way into the box only to shoot wide with just the keeper to beat.

Bochum took a surprise lead when they broke down the left and Joel Epalle outjumped Nigel de Jong and headed down for Slovak striker Sestak to sweep in first time.

Belgian international defender Kompany saw red for bringing down Tommy Bechmann as he broke over the halfway line and Bochum kept control before the late exchange of goals brought the game back to life.

Bayern Munich maintained their 100 percent start and returned to the top of the Bundesliga table with a comfortable 3-0 victory over 10-man Hannover on Saturday.

Luca Toni fired the Bavarians ahead after 28 minutes with his third goal in as many games, before Altin Lala was dismissed on the stroke of half time following a second caution.

Bayern made full use of the numerical advantage in the second 45 minutes with further goals from Mark van Bommel and Hamit Altintop firing Ottmar Hitzfeld's side to the summit in Germany.

Arminia Bielefeld climbed to second place following a 2-0 home victory over Hertha Berlin.

Both goals were gifted by the capital club's dismal defense, with Ioannis Masmanidis connecting following a rare six-yard free-kick in the 52nd minute before Artur Wichniarek put the issue beyond doubt in the final minute.

The defeat leaves the visitors with just a solitary win from their opening three games.

Elsewhere, Werder Bremen won their first three points of the season thanks to a debut goal from Martin Harnik at Nurnberg.

The Austrian striker, who made his international debut in midweek, scored the decisive goal in the 69th minute and also missed several more chances to seal the win.

However, the single goal was enough to end Bremen's disappointing start to the season and earn Thomas Schaaf's side a precious three points ahead of Wednesday's Champions League qualifier at Dinamo Zagreb.

In Stuttgart, Mario Gomez scored the only goal as the defending champions were made to work hard for their first haul of three points this season against Bundesliga new boys Duisburg.

The Germany striker was on hand to convert Ciprian Marica's 34th minute cross to fire the home team ahead.

Mihai Tararache was shown a straight red card in the 87th minute as the visiting team ended the game with 10 men.

Another team to win for the first time this season was Borussia Dortmund, who had a brace from Diego Klimowicz in their 3-0 win over Cottbus.

Florian Kringe fired Thomas Doll's team into the lead on the stroke of half time, before goals from substitute Klimowicz in the 70th and 84th minutes handed the home team all three points in a comfortable win.

Cottbus continued to struggle, falling to second bottom of the table with just a single point from their opening three games.

Bayer Leverkusen are up to sixth after a convincing 3-0 win over Karlsruhe.

All the goals came in the first 45 minutes with Maik Franz's own goal in the 19th minute gifting the home team the lead.

Seven minutes later Manuel Friedrich made it two before Theofanis Gekas sealed the win for Leverkusen.

On Friday evening Bochum beat Hamburg 2-1 with Stanislav Sestak and Daniel Imhof on the mark for the hosts while Hamburg, who had Vincent Kompany dismissed, grabbed a penalty consolation through Rafael van der Vaart.

Bochum briefly went top with that result before Saturday's games were played.

On Sunday, Wolfsburg host Schalke while Hansa Rostock visit Eintracht Frankfurt.

Bayern Munich's French star Franck Ribery has been choosen as the Bundesliga's player of the month for August, it was announced on Thursday.

Ribery, 24, became the most expensive player in Bundesliga history when Bayern signed him on a four-year contract for 26 million euros this summer, and he has been a major force in his side's march to the top of the table.

In a survey by German sports magazine Kicker and television channel DSF, Ribery picked up 55.5 percent of the votes with Schalke defender Christian Pander second on 40.3 percent and VfL Bochum's Tommy Bechmann in third.

A fierce competitor, Ribery's passing skills and strength has won several admirers including German coach Joachim Loew who "admired his intelligent play", while Brazilian Giovane Elber has compared Ribery to Ronaldinho and Kaka.

كان از نظر حضور در مسابقات، در بين تمامي بازيكنان ليگ آلمان نيز رتبه پنجم را داراست.

"كارل هاينز كوربل" با ۶۰۲بازي در صدر اين فهرست قرار دارد.

كان كه به جز بايرن فقط در باشگاه كارلسروهه عضويت داشته، قصد دارد در پايان فصل جاري بوندسليگا از فوتبال خداحافظي كرده و به سرمربيگري دروازه*بان*ها در آسيا مشغول شود.

Hertha Berlin moved up to fifth in the Bundesliga on Sunday after a 2-1 win at Duisburg.

Marko Pantelic was the visitors' hero with both goals with Klemen Lavric netting a consolation for the hosts.

Karlsruhe continue to impress on their return to the top flight.

Edmund Becker's men were 2-1 victors at struggling Wolfsburg after coming from behind to register their third win in five games since promotion.

Jacek Krzynowek opened the scoring after 21 minutes for Felix Magath's men but second-half efforts from Mario Eggimann and Christian Eichner turned the match around and moved Karlsruhe up to sixth.

On Saturday, Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Schalke.

The home side dominated for the opening 30 minutes but fell behind against the run of play when Ivan Rakitic put the Royal Blues in front nine minutes before the break.

Miroslav Klose scored a deserved equaliser for Bayern nine minutes into the second half but neither side were able to force the winner.

The result leaves both teams with the only unbeaten records in the Bundesliga. Arminia Bielefeld are second in the table after a 4-2 win at the expense of bottom club Hansa Rostock.

Victor Agali's own goal gave Bielefeld the lead although Enrico Kern briefly equalised for Rostock.

Two goals from Christian Eigler and one from Artur Wichniarek secured a comfortable win for Arminia with Kai Bulow getting a consolation for the east German side. Alexander Meier scored both goals in a 2-1 win for Eintracht Frankfurt against Hamburg.

Meier's second goal came three minutes from time and just five minutes after Rafael van der Vaart's penalty had looked to have saved a point for Hamburg. Champions Stuttgart picked up only their second win of the campaign with a 3-0 beating of Energie Cottbus.

Second-half goals from Jeronimo Cacau, Ewerthon and Mario Gomez sealed the win for Stuttgart who won the last eight games of last season to seal the title from what had looked an impossible position but have found victories harder to come by this term.

Karim Haggui and Manuel Friedrich earned a 2-0 win for Bayer Leverkusen against Bochum, who had Marc Pfertzel sent off.

Nurnberg did well to battle back for a 2-2 draw in the proverbial game of two halves against visitors Hannover.

Two first-half goals from Mike Hanke put the visitors in charge, a lead they defended until the hour mark when Zvjezdan Misimovic reduced arrears.

Christian Schultz's sending-off further complicated matters for Hannover and Nurnberg grabbed a point with a late strike from Marek Mintal.

On Friday, Borussia Dortmund completed a convincing 3-0 victory over Werder Bremen. All three goals came in the first half for the home side, who clinched their third straight league win courtesy two goals from Mladen Petric and a Diego Klimowicz strike.
