ارغوان رضايي توانسته بود در در مرحله نيمه نهايي تورنمنت تنيس اوكلند مارينا اراكوويچ، بهترين تنيسور نيوزيلند را شكست داده و به مرحله فينال اين تورنمنت راه يابد.

French-Iranian Aravane Rezai caused an upset when she beat compatriot and 13th seed Tatiana Golovin 6-3 3-6 6-3 in the second round of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Aravane Rezai (22, Iranian-French tennis player born in St. Etienne, France to Iranian parents) won the first WTA Tour title of her career in Strasbourg on Saturday May 23, 2009.

It was third time lucky for Aravane Rezai on Saturday, as she won her first title in the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour singles finals on home turf, beating Lucie Hradecka 7–6(2), 6–1 in straight sets for the Internationaux de Strasbourg crown.

Although she was unseeded, Rezai reached to singles finals on the Tour before, Rezai finishing runner-up at Istanbul in 2007 and at Auckland in 2008. Perhaps Rezai's experience in finals helped her out in a tight opening set, as she rallied from 5-3 down and even saved two set points down 6-5 to push it to a tie-break, where she prevailed easily, 7-2.

Rezai was broken in the first game of the second set but ran away with the rest of the match, taking six games in a row to complete a 7-6(2), 6-1 victory.

"It's incredible. I'm so happy to win my first title in France," said Rezai, the first French champion in the tournament's 23 years. "I've been working hard for so many years for this and it's hard to put into words what I feel. I want to come back here every year, I love this tournament. This title has given me a lot of confidence but now I'm just going to focus on my first match at Roland Garros."

Rezai's experiences in previous finals weren't among her best memories, as she retired against Elena Dementieva due to left patella tendonitis in the Istanbul final and was crushed by Lindsay Davenport in the Auckland final. But the 22-year-old had gained steam over the last few weeks, tight losses to far-higher-ranked players at Rome and Madrid proving she could hang tough with anyone.

After her victory Rezai moved from No. 79 to No. 57 in WTA ranking.

ارغوان رضايي با پيروزي برابر تنيس بازي از پرتغال راهي دور چهارم رقابت*هاي اپن فرانسه موسوم به "رولند گاروس" شد.


به گزارش خبرگزاري دانشجويان ايران ( ايسنا)، اين تنيس باز ايراني الاصل روز جمعه با پيروزي دو بر صفر برابر حريف خود راهي مرحله چهارم رقابت*هاي تنيس زنان اوپن فرانسه شد. حريف رضايي در اين دور دينار اسافينا از روسيه خواهد بود كه قرعه*اي بد براي او به شمار مي*آيد. سافينا در حال حاضر برترين زن تنيس دنيا و بخت اول قهرماني در دومين گرنداسلم سال تنيس به شمار مي*آيد.


در ديگر ديدارهاي روز جمعه در بخش مردان فيليپ كوهل شرايبر آلماني توانست خوان كارلوس فرروي اسپانيايي را سه بر صفر شكست دهد و در دور بعد با نواك جوكوويچ صربستاني رو به رو شود. فررو در سال 2003 قهرمان رولند گاروس شده بود.

نيكلاس داويدنكوي روس و فرناندو ورداسكو ديگر تنيس بازان معروف و پيروز جمعه بودند. داويدنكو سه بر يك استانيسلاو وارونيكا از سوئيس را برد و ورداسكو هم سه بر صفر آلماگرو را از پيش رو برداشت.

رافائل نادال بخت و مرد شماره يك تنيس جهان هم سه بر صفر ليتون هيوئيت استراليايي را برد.

ژيل سيمون فرانسوي برابر*هانسكوي رومانيايي در ميان شگفتني همگان سه بر صفر باخت و حذف شد. اندي موراي هم در حالي كه از تيپزارويچ دو بر صفر پيش بود،* با انصراف اين تنيس باز صرب راهي مرحله يك هشتم نهايي شد تا با مارين سيليچ كروات رو به رو شود.


در ديگر ديدارهاي زنان هم ونوس ويليامز برابر اگنس ژاواي شكست خورد و كنار رفت. آناايوانوويچ مدافع عنوان قهرماني دو بر صفر ايوتا بنزواي چك را برد و بدون زحمت راهي مرحله*ي يك هشتم نهايي شد.

ارغوان رضایی، تنیس باز ایرانی الاصل فرانسوی، چهارشنبه شب و در مرحله دوم مسابقات تنیس جام راحرز در تورنتو، موفق شد دینارا سافینا، تنیس باز شماره یک زنان جهان را شکست دهد.

در این بازی ارغوان رضایی، با نتیجه دو بر یک (۶-۴، ۲-۶ و ۶-۳) سافینای روس را شکست داد تا به دور سوم این تورنمنت ۲ میلیون دلاری صعود کند.

ارغوان رضایی چند ماه پیش در مرحله چهارم مسابقات تنیس آزاد فرانسه در مقابل دینارا سافینا شکست سختی خورده بود (۶-۰ و ۶-۱).

ارغوان رضایی در مسابقات تنیس ویمبلدون، که چند ماه پیش در لندن برگزار شد، در دور دوم مغلوب النا دیمنتیوا، تنیس باز شماره ۴ جهان شد و از دور مسابقات کنار رفت.

در دیگر بازی های مهم مرحله دوم تنیس تورنتو، ونوس ویلیامز، بخت شماره ۳ قهرمانی این مسابقات، به کاترینا بوندارنکو از اوکراین باخت و حذف شد.

سرنا ویلیامز، بخت شماره ۲ قهرمانی این بازی ها، ماریا شاراپووا، النا دیمنتیوا و یلنا یانکوویچ دیگر تنیس بازان مشهوری بودند که در مرحله دوم حریفان خود را شکست دادند و به دور سوم صعود کردند.

MADRID (Reuters) - Aravane Rezai blasted her way to the biggest singles title of her career when she stunned fourth seed Venus Williams 6-2 7-5 in the Madrid Open final on Sunday.

The unseeded Frenchwoman, who beat world number four Jelena Jankovic in the quarter-finals, tries to hit the cover off the ball on almost every shot and won five straight games on the clay in the Magic Box arena to seal victory.

It was the third title of her career after triumphs in Strasbourg and Bali last year and set the 23-year-old from St. Etienne up nicely for the French Open starting later this month.
