  • Shanna 'Betrayed' by Travis & Paris

Just a day after reports that Travis Barker and Paris Hilton made out in front of clubgoers in New York, Barker's estranged wife Shanna Moakler tells PEOPLE that she feels "betrayed" by the news.

Hilton and Barker were spotted at New York hot spot Butter Monday night at a party hosted by Kanye West. Hilton's rep told PEOPLE Tuesday: "They like each other. Paris really likes him. Beyond that I cannot comment."

Moakler's response? "When I first heard of the situation I felt betrayed, but in order to maintain a positive atmosphere for my children I've decided that not to exacerbate the situation by commenting on each new aspect of Travis Barker's personal life," she said in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE.

As for Hilton and Barker's night out, the pair snuggled and whispered in a corner banquette in the back of the club. When West's song "Diamonds from Sierra Leone" began playing, Hilton stood up and started dancing near Barker.

Hilton's rep added: "Paris is single right now. You may in the future see her in the company of other men."

    • Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown Separate

Whitney Houston has split from her husband, Bobby Brown, Houston's rep, Nancy Seltzer, has confirmed to PEOPLE.

"She has filed for divorce from Bobby Brown," says Seltzer.

Houston filed the paperwork Friday, Sept. 8 in Orange County, Calif.

The filing is technically a legal separation, Seltzer clarified, adding: "We're saying she filed for divorce because that is (Whitney's) intent." Divorce proceeding are expected to begin next month.

"(Whitney) was in L.A. last night with Clive Davis at the Ella awards," Seltzer says. "I have nothing further to add."

A Houston friend tells PEOPLE of the singer, "She is doing fabulously well."

Houston, 43, and Brown, 39, wed on July 18, 1992. They have one daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 13.

Doubts about the couple began even before their wedding day. She was the velvet-voiced sweetheart raised on Baptist gospel music in a middle-class home. He was a bad boy from the Roxbury section of Boston who had fathered three kids out of wedlock. Still, Houston walked down the aisle in a $40,000 Marc Bouwer wedding gown and, before a star-studded crowd of 800 guests, exchanged vows with Brown on the grounds of her five-acre, $11 million New Jersey mansion.

Their marriage had its share of ups and downs, including a month-long separation in 1997, run-ins with the law, rumors of drug use and infidelity and a 2005 Bravo reality show, Being Bobby Brown, that showcased a relationship many viewers perceived as bizarre.

But through it all, Houston and Brown always seemed to stick together. In January, a report surfaced that Brown planned to divorce Houston and had been partying with several women at a casino. Telling PEOPLE the rumors were untrue, Brown said of his wife, "She's my friend. She's the better half of me. They say opposites attract, but we're not opposites. We're one person. We're loving life, and we're just trying to be as good to each other as possible."

And in May, when a tabloid reported that Houston was abusing drugs and that the union was in trouble, Brown told PEOPLE, "We are happily married. ... We are going to stand for each other for as long we live. I adore that woman. She helps me see God. I look in her eyes and I see God."

        • Driver Who Hit Ellen Charged with DUI

The woman who was in a three-vehicle collision that involved Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia de Rossi on Sept. 1 in Los Angeles has been charged with DUI, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Jeanne N. Werber, 52, will face two misdemeanor counts at her scheduled Oct. 4 arraignment: driving under the influence and failure to show proof of insurance.

The crash occurred when DeGeneres, driving a 2006 Porsche Carrera, stopped at a light on Sunset Boulevard. A 2002 Buick Le Sabre, driven by two men in their 20s who were later identified as paparazzi working for the X17 photo agency, stopped behind her.

Then Werber slammed her 2002 Porsche Carrera into the back of the Buick, which in turn collided with DeGeneres's car, police told PEOPLE. Werber, who had minor cuts on her leg, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

No one required medical attention. DeGeneres "had a little neck and back pain, but it doesn't look like it was anything serious," LAPD Sgt. Ken Buscarino told the Associated Press. De Rossi complained of back pain; the men in the Buick suffered scratches.

DeGeneres, whose car sustained some small damage, said on the Sept. 6 edition of her eponymous talk show that the accident was "shocking and disorienting."

Still, she was able to make light of one aspect of it, saying, "It's really handy to have the paparazzi right there behind you, because they got it all on video. I wish that for all of you, to be followed by paparazzi."

              • George Clooney Asks U.N for Aid in Darfur

George Clooney joined Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel on Thursday to press the United Nations Security Council to help stop the killings in Sudan's Darfur region.

"The United States has called it genocide," Clooney told U.N. Security Council members in New York City at what was called an informal briefing. "For you it's called ethnic cleansing. But make no mistake, it is the first genocide of the 21st century. And if it continues unchecked, it will not be the last."

He said he was sure some council members had "sensible reasons" for failing to use leverage to get peacekeepers on the ground, but said, "Whatever the reason, it's not good enough."

Since February 2003, when ethnic African tribes revolted against the Arab-led Khartoum government, state-sponsored militias called Janjaweed have reportedly killed at least 400,000 people and displaced 2.5 million more.

The address by Clooney and Wiesel comes as the African Union prepares to withdraw its peacekeeping troops from Darfur on Sept. 30. In August the U.N. Security Council passed a resolution to deploy more than 20,000 of its own troops in the region, but the Sudanese government has refused.

"On Oct. 1, it won't just be the Janjaweed raping and murdering with impunity, or (rebel leader Mini Arkoi) Manawi's SLA (Sudanese Liberation Army) slaughtering the Fur tribes," Clooney said Thursday. "With no protection, all the aid workers will leave immediately, and the two and a half million refugees who depend on that aid will die."

Wiesel, who survived the Nazi death camps Auschwitz and Buchenwald during World War II, cited the genocide in Rwanda as a reason for the U.N. to act in Darfur. "Nobody did anything," he said. "It remains a mark of shame for the U.N. and the whole world."

Clooney's crusade began in April when he and his father, retired newsman Nick Clooney, spent five days in Darfur filming interviews with refugees. On his return to the U.S., he addressed top politicians in Washington, D.C., about the situation.

Clooney and Wiesel's address was organized by the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity, which recently set up a Darfur Commission of Nobel Laureates.

On Sunday, a rally will take place in New York's Central park organized by the Save Darfur Coalition.

                            • Lindsay Lohan Fractures Wrist

Lindsay Lohan was rushed to a New York hospital with a fractured wrist after slipping and falling at a Fashion Week party, her rep tells Access Hollywood.

Lohan's publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, said the 20-year-old actress slipped and fell at the Milk Studios in New York, fracturing her wrist in two places. She was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, and Sloane said Lindsay's mother drove in from Long Island to meet her.

Sloane added that "there's a pending investigation" into the accident, after Lohan claimed Milk Studios didn't take proper measures to prevent slips on the slick ground.

                              • Second Autopsy for Anna's Son

A coroner hired by Anna Nicole Smith performed a second autopsy on her son Daniel on Sunday in the Bahamas, in an effort to further investigate the cause of the 20-year-old's death.

Cyril Wecht, 75, a Pittsburgh-based forensic pathologist who has previously consulted in the death investigations of Elvis Presley and JonBenet Ramsey, said the cause of death is still pending, but he has ruled out heart disease, cancer, systemic infection, or a pulmonary embolism.

"I find nothing to suggest to me any kind of foul play," Wecht added. "I think that we have a tragic death of a young man and ultimately the cause is going to be determined."

Wecht also took samples for a second set of tests to compare them to those done in the Bahamas. Wecht says toxicology results may take two weeks to four months to come back, though Her Majesty's Coroner Linda P. Virgill says a jury inquest is still scheduled for Oct. 23.

The body has been released to Butler's funeral home in Nassau for the family.

Daniel Smith, 20, died in his mother's hospital room Sept. 10 while visiting her three days after she gave birth to a baby girl. An autopsy was first performed early last week by forensic pathologist Dr. Govinda Raju.

Smith's attorney, Michael Scott, who accompanied Wecht to the hospital Sunday, told reporters that Anna Nicole "is doing well, she is getting better." Smith, he said, "wants everyone to stop jumping to conclusions, take a breath, step back and await the outcome of any reports from Dr. Wecht and Dr. Raju and to await the outcome of any coroner's proceedings.

"(Anna Nicole) wants to know how (Daniel) died and we all want to know," Scott said. "It could take weeks to get a definitive, final answer."

Bahamnian government officials last week labeled Daniel's death "suspicious" because the cause of death is unclear, and the results of their toxicology report will be not be revealed until the start of the jury inquest on Oct. 23. Smith, hospital staff and others who saw Daniel on the night of his death are expected to be called to testify.

Wecht, meanwhile, is facing trial on charges that he improperly used his staff to work for his private practice while he served as Allegheny County, Pa., coroner. Wecht, who resigned from the position in January, denies any wrongdoing.
