            • Julie Andrews to Receive Top SAG Award

Julie Andrews, the legendary actress and singer who is perhaps best known as the beloved star of 1965's The Sound of Music, will be honored with a Life Achievement Award at the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony in January, it was announced Monday.

"Julie Andrews is a woman of great generosity, creativity, courage, elegance and wit," SAG President Alan Rosenberg said in a statement. "She embodies and transcends the memorable roles she has created. Julie has been a positive presence in my life and continues to inspire multiple generations. I believe it is exceptionally significant to be recognized by people who do the same work you do."

Andrews, who was born and raised in England, won an Academy Award in her movie debut as the magical, flying governess in 1964's Mary Poppins. She got another Oscar nod for 1983's Victor/Victoriaa.

Younger film audiences may know Andrews best as the voice of Queen Lillian in Shrek 2, a role she is reprising for Shrek 3, due out next summer. She also starred opposite Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries.

In addition to acting and singing, Andrews is an author and has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Fund for Women for 15 years.

She and her husband, filmmaker Blake Edwards, have been married for nearly 37 years.

The 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007.

              • Scrubs Actress Recovering After Fall

Scrubs actress Judy Reyes is on the mend after suffering a fracture after an accidental fall, her rep, Monique Ward, tells PEOPLE.

Reyes, 37, who plays nurse Carla Espinosa on the NBC comedy, will be released from the hospital Monday. "She's going to be fine," Ward says. "She had an accidental fall at home and fractured her pelvis on Wednesday.

"She had surgery to repair it on Thursday. She didn't realize it was as bad as it was and still went to work. Once there, she realized she needed medical treatment. She went to a hospital from the set."

Reyes will be on crutches for about six weeks but is expected to shoot some scenes while she heals, while other parts of the filming schedule will be reworked so that she can complete her scenes at a later date, reps for the actress and the show confirm.

                    • Anna's Lawyer: I'm the Baby's Dad

Howard K. Stern, the lawyer for Anna Nicole Smith, said Tuesday that he's the "proud father" of her baby girl, who was born just days before her 20-year-old son Daniel died in the Bahamas.

Stern, who was with the family in the hospital the night Daniel died, told CNN's Larry King that the newborn has been Anna Nicole's "one ray of hope" following the tragedy.

The child, he said, is "the one thing that is really keeping her going. And through it all, even with all the pain, she has been a great mom, a very attentive mom."

Daniel Smith, 20, died in his mother's hospital room Sept. 10 while visiting her three days after she gave birth to the baby girl. Authorities are still awaiting toxicology test results to determine the cause of death.
Cyril Wecht, a pathologist hired by Anna Nicole to perform a second autopsy, confirmed that Daniel had taken "therapeutic levels" of the antidepressant Lexapro, but Stern said Tuesday: "We also now have an indication that there may have been other prescriptive medication in his system but we don't know, you know, if that would have contributed to his death or not."

As for his relationship with Anna Nicole, Stern said: "We love each other and it's been going on for a very long time and because of my relationship as her lawyer, we felt it was best to keep everything hidden. And we've done a pretty good job of that."

When King asked Stern if he planned to marry Smith, he replied, "I've loved her for quite some time and hopefully the feeling's mutual. At some point, we will. Right now we have to somehow get through what we're going through."

                      • Lost Actor's Traffic Charges Dropped

Traffic charges against Lost's Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje have been dropped, the Associate Press reports.

Defense attorneys were able to prove that the actor, who plays Mr. Eko on the ABC series, has a valid driver's license. He was stopped on Sept. 2 in Waikiki and charged with driving without a license and disobeying an officer.

After his arrest, police said Akinnuoye-Agbaje, 39, spent slightly more than six hours behind bars before being released on $500 bail and told to appear in district court on Sept. 26.

Other Lost cast members have had driving-related troubles: Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros were arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol last year. Josh Holloway, Dominic Monaghan, Naveen Andrews, Ian Somerhalder, Christian Bowman and Harold Perrineau have been cited, but not arrested, for traffic violations.

                        • Reverend Run's Baby Dies at Birth

The baby daughter of rap legend Reverend Run and his wife Justine died at birth.

Run (real name: Joseph Simmons) issued the following statement on Wednesday through MTV: "On September 26, 2006, Victoria Anne Simmons for some unknown reason chose to come early and unfortunately did not survive.

"We must accept whatever is there and once you accept unconditionally, then everything is beautiful. Every pain has a purifying effect."

The baby was delivered Tuesday at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J., the Associated Press reports. Justine Simmons is fine.

Run, a founding member of the seminal rap group Run-D.M.C., and his wife married in 1994, and have two sons Daniel (Diggy) and Russell II (Russy). Run's three older children, Vanessa, Angela and Joseph Jr., are from a previous relationship.

The family stars in the MTV reality series Run's House, which follows the minister and his wife as they raise their five children. The show was picked up for a second season, which began airing in June. Rev. Run was ordained a minister by the nondenominational New York City church Zoe Ministries in Aug. 1995.
