Christie Brinkley, Husband No. 4 Separate

Christie Brinkley and her fourth husband, architect Peter Cook, are going their separate ways after 10 years of marriage, the CoverGirl model's rep revealed Tuesday.

"Yes, it's true. The couple has separated," publicist Elliot Mintz says in a statement, according to the Associated Press.

Brinkley and Cook, 47, who live in New York's tony Hamptons region, have a daughter, Sailor, 8.

Brinkley, 52, was previously married to artist Jean-François Allaux (1973-81), singer Billy Joel (1985-94) and developer Richard Taubman (1994-95).

She and Joel have a 20-year-old daughter, Alexa, and she and Taubman have an 11-year-old son, Jack, whom Cook adopted after he and Brinkley wed in 1996.

"(Christie's) immediate concern is for her children, and she's hoping during this obviously difficult time that people will be kind enough to respect her privacy," Mintz said.

Pamela Anderson: I'm a Soccer Mom

Pamela Anderson, shy? The former Baywatch star and Playboy Playmate would not let a magazine photograph her bedroom, which has a stripper pole, for a story about her Malibu bungalow – preferring instead to talk about her life as a soccer mom.

"I go to every game!" the actress, 39, tells House & Garden in its August issue, according to the Associated Press. Anderson has two sons, Brandon, 10, and Dylan, 8, with her ex-husband, Rock Star: Supernova star Tommy Lee.

The magazine describes Anderson's home as "hippie-chick-meets-Miss Havisham" (the reclusive, jilted bride in Charles Dickens's Great Expectations), and shows Anderson in a beach-ready white oxford shirt and shorts.

"I'm obsessed with living on the beach," says the Canada native. "I love being outdoors, and think a tan is very sexy. I'll lie out on white towels strewn with pillows. I don't like to hide under hats!"

It's appropriate, then that the MAC Cosmetics spokesmodel is working on a line of "body-care products for the sun" with the company. "If anyone knows about spending lots of the time on the beach, with kids and dogs in tow, it's me," she says.

        Olympian Shannon Miller Divorces Husband

After a prolonged negotiation, former Olympic gymnast Shannon Miller is divorcing her husband of seven years, Boston eye surgeon Christopher B. Phillips.

Miller, 29, filed for divorce from Phillips, 33, in May 2004, but financial disputes dragged the case out more than two years. The divorce is expected to become official in September, reports the Associated Press.

The two married in a lavish ceremony that featured many of Miller's teammates from the 1996 U.S. squad that won the team gold medal in the Atlanta Games. The couple, who lived in Oklahoma City and a Houston suburb before moving to Boston, have no children.

Phillips alleges that his wife had an affair with a married male athlete and that she threatened to accuse him (Phillips) of abusing prescription drugs if he failed to meet her demands during the divorce proceedings.

"I've been put through the wringer over this," Phillips said. "It's been a very bitter and terrible divorce. ... She has really, really hurt me."

Miller denied the accusations, calling them "lies and innuendo surrounding an emotional divorce. … The worst thing I ever did to my ex-husband was to put unleaded gas in his car and not premium. With gas prices these days, do you blame me?" Miller wrote in an e-mailed response to questions posed by The Oklahoman newspaper.

"We all have choices to make in life. I have chosen to be happy by leaving this painful experience in the past. I hope Chris is able to move on as well," she said.

Miller said she plans to finish law school at Boston College and "continue pursuing my life's passion of working with children."

Phillips said he would like to return to Oklahoma at some point. He now works at a Boston hospital and attends law school at Suffolk University.

Uma Thurman: I Won't Criticize Ethan Hawke

Uma Thurman admits she was in a bad marriage with Ethan Hawke, but refuses to speak negatively about her ex.

"I cannot participate in anything critical about my children's father," the My Super Ex-Girlfriend star says in the upcoming issue of Parade magazine. "I just need to keep peace. I think it's fair to say that I haven't said one mean thing, and I'm not going to start now. It's terrible for my family."

Thurman, 36, and Hawke, 35, met on the set of the sci-fi drama Gattaca and married a year later, in 1998. They had two children, daughter Maya, now 8, and son Levon, 4, before Thurman filed for divorce in 2004 amid rumors that Hawke had been unfaithful.

Of the split, Thurman – who refers to Hawke only as her kids' dad – says, "If I see one more headline about it, I'll gag. I'm just another American woman who was in an unfulfilled marriage that fell apart."

But the actress, who was married to actor Gary Oldman from 1990-92 and has been in an off-again, on-again relationship with hotelier André Balasz for the past two years, admits she's sometimes baffled by relationships.

"You need to want to be forgiving," she tells the magazine. "The problem is that, if you want to, you'll forgive the unforgivable. I am very perceptive about people, but then if I'm attracted to them, I'm not always looking clearly."

She adds with a laugh, "I'm working on a decoding system – especially for men."

Still, persistence itself has been an achievement. "One thing I'm proud of, which is not an easy sentence for me: I'm proud that I keep trying," she says.

"It's been very helpful for me to discover that I could do that. Sure, there are challenges. Sure, there were dark things. But I have a great career and two healthy, beautiful, smart and funny children. We're an incredibly tight-knit threesome, and we have so much fun together."

                Montel Williams Gets Engaged

Talk show host Montel Williams is engaged, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

"I feel like I have a true partner," Williams told PEOPLE Wednesday evening at his 50th birthday party in New York City.

Williams proposed to his new fiancée, Tara Fowler, an American Airlines flight attendant, at the restaurant Tavern on the Green in front of both their families on Wednesday.

The couple met a year and a half ago in Florida.

Paris, Nicole: Fighting on Simple Life 5?

E! Entertainment Television has ordered a fifth season of the reality series The Simple Life, E! Networks president and CEO Ted Harbert announced at the Television Critics Association press tour on Tuesday.

But this time, stars and best friends-turned-archenemies Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie might not be filmed separately, as they were for season four, The Simple Life: 'Til Death Do Us Part.

"I don't have any control over whether they'll be friends by next season," Harbert tells PEOPLE. "We need to talk about the best thing to do for the show, and I'm not sure shooting them separately again is the best thing for the show."

On the most recent season, Hilton, 25, and Richie, 24, were shown trying to run the households of regular families – but the two did not share any screen time.

Still, the show was a hit for E! – its June 6 premiere drew triple the cable net's average viewers. "We pulled off a difficult thing this year, but frankly we got away with it," says Harbert. "We can't do that again."

And hopefully, when the feuding heiresses are forced to interact, sparks will fly, says an insider. "They want to give the viewers what they want, and what the viewers want is to see Paris and Nicole together, fighting," says the source.

Britney: Pregnancy Doesn't Always Feel Pretty

Even though expectant mom Britney Spears poses nude on the cover of August's Harper's Bazaar, she tells the magazine that, when pregnant, "you don't feel the most beautiful all the time."

Spears, 24, is already mom to son Sean Preston, 10 months, and is expecting her second child with husband Kevin Federline in October. In an excerpt obtained by USA Today, she admits to Bazaar that, while pregnancy is "empowering," she felt unprepared and "paranoid" the first time.

But with "this one, I was like, I've just got to wing it," she continues. "It was weird for me at first because of who I am. Wherever you go, they expect you to look a certain way. I'm not supposed to be this big huge pregnant superstar."

She describes Sean Preston as a "rocker kid" and the inspiration for the line of baby clothes she's designing. "Hopefully, next year we'll have a fashion show, maybe at Disney World," says Spears, who got her start as a Mouseketeer.

After child no. 2 is born, Spears is looking forward to getting back in shape and back to work. "After this baby," she says, "I'm going to get really intense with it."

She "can't wait" to perform again, "but I really have to take my time and do it right and be safe," she says. "Actually, not that safe. When you perform, you have to be dangerous."

Photo by: Alexi Lubomirski exclusively for Harper's Bazaar
She also plans to head back to the recording studio, where she hopes to collaborate with Federline, 28. "I'm so proud of Kevin," she says. "He's been working so hard on his own album since I got pregnant with Preston. I'm so lucky. He's a doll; he's adorable."

Oscar Winner Red Buttons Dies at 87

Red Buttons, an impish redheaded comic whose career included vaudeville, an Oscar-winning dramatic role and guest spots on The Cosby Show and Roseanne, died Thursday of vascular disease at his home in the Century City area of Los Angeles, according to publicist Warren Cowan. He was 87.

Buttons had been ill for some time, and was with family members when he died, Cowan told the Associated Press.

Born Aaron Chwatt and raised in the Bronx, Buttons got his nickname when he was a young singing waiter whose uniform had a lot of buttons on it. "Red" referred to his carrot top.

In 1952, after a long and successful career as a Borscht Belt comic (Buttons's musical theme was "The Ho-Ho Song," to which he danced on one leg), he starred in TV's The Red Buttons Show. The high point of his career came with the 1957 film adaptation of the James Michener World War II novel, Sayonara, starring Marlon Brando.

Buttons played Airman Joe Kelly, an American who marries a Japanese woman (Miyoshi Umeki). Both characters commit suicide rather than continue to endure the prejudice they encountered.

Buttons won the Supporting Actor Oscar for the role – and went on to become highly visible in movies for the next 20 years and on TV nearly until his death.

Other movies included The Big Circus, Hatari! The Longest Day, They Shoot Horses, Don't They? The Poseidon Adventure and Pete's Dragon. He also appeared on TV shows such as The Cosby Show, Roseanne and Dennis Miller Live.

In 1964, Buttons married his third wife, Alicia, with whom he had two children. Alicia Buttons died in 2001.

Angelina Jolie Will Play Widow of Slain Journalist

Angelina Jolie will play Mariane Pearl, the widow of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, in a movie produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B production company, Pitt has confirmed to PEOPLE.

"The film will focus on the deep collaboration between people around the world in search of Daniel in 2002," Pitt tells PEOPLE. "We hope the film can increase understanding between people of all faiths and portray the story and the people involved as honestly as possible without anger or judgment."

Contrary to reports claiming that Pitt's ex, Jennifer Aniston, was earlier cast as Mariane Pearl, a rep for Pitt and Jolie tells PEOPLE, "Jennifer was never attached to that role. When the project was first brought to Plan B, Jen was a partner in the company at the time."

The film will be adapted from Pearl's memoir, A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl, which chronicles her experience after her husband was abducted by Islamic extremists in Pakistan in early 2002. A month later, his captors released a video depicting his murder.

Pearl, a French journalist, was pregnant when her husband was kidnapped and gave birth to their son Adam in May of that year.

"I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book," Pearl said in a statement released Thursday by Paramount Vintage. "I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to."

The film will start shooting in the fall. It is Jolie's first dramatic role since the May 27 birth of her daughter with Pitt, Shiloh Nouvel.

Earlier this week it was reported that Jolie will lend her voice to the DreamWorks animated feature Kung Fu Panda, in the role of Tigress, a martial arts teacher. The film, due next May, also stars Jack Black.

Sheen's Restraining Order Extended – Again

At a closed-door hearing in Los Angeles Thursday, a judge and lawyers for Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards took just 20 minutes to agree to extend a restraining order against Sheen through Aug. 14.

Neither Sheen, 40, nor Richards, 35, was present at the hearing, which took place in judge's quarters. Attorneys for both declined to comment.

Sheen was previously under a restraining order that expired late last month. Aug. 14 is the date of the estranged couple's next hearing.

Richards was first granted an order of protection against Sheen in April. He was required to stay at least 300 yards from Richards and their daughters, Sam, 2, and Lola, 1, except for supervised visits with the children.

In early June, lawyers for the pair agreed to extend the restraining order through June 28.

Sheen and Richards wed in June 2002; Richards filed for divorce in March 2005 while pregnant with Lola. Richards is now dating Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, 47, and Sheen is seeing real estate investor Brooke Mueller, 28.

Princes Lash Out Over Diana Death Photos

Princes William and Harry lashed out on Friday at an Italian magazine that published taboo photographs of their mother Princess Diana dying in the wreckage of a Paris car crash.

"We feel deeply saddened that such a low has been reached," the two princes said in a rare statement.

"Despite the support shown to us and our mother's memory by so many people over the last eight years, we feel that, as her sons, we would be failing in our duty to her now if we did not protect her, as she once did us.

"Therefore, we appeal to all forms of media throughout the world to appreciate fully that publishing such material causes great hurt to us, our father, our mother's family and all those who so loved and respected her."

Milan-based magazine Chi defended its decision to run the photo, which showed Diana slumped and dying in the mangled Mercedes moments after it slammed into a tunnel at high speed, killing her, her lover and their driver.

A spokesman for the magazine said, "There is nothing voyeuristic or disrespectful in all this. It is just an attempt to get closer to the truth of a drama that is still wrapped in too much mystery and too many lies."

British tabloids, which once revelled in covering every twist in Diana's tortured lovelife, had refrained from publishing pictures of her death, maintaining that taboo throughout the nearly nine years since the crash.

"Shame On You" thundered The Sun, which reprinted the photo in Chi but blanked out the image of Diana. "Outrage at Picture of Dying Diana in Magazine," declared the Daily Express.

The fury of the tabloids was ironic to some.

"There is no doubting the double standards of the British media," leading publicist Max Clifford told Reuters. "There is a huge public interest and if they are not horrendous images, I cannot get myself as stirred up as they seem to be."

Beyoncé Opens Up About Fights with Dad

Beyoncé Knowles kept the recording of her upcoming album, B'Day, under very tights wraps – sealing its secrets even from her father and manager, Matthew Knowles.

As the former Destiny's Child tells Giant magazine, however, she had her personal reasons.

"It took awhile for me and my dad to have an understanding," she says in excerpts from the interview on MTV.com. "When I turned 18 and started handling my business more, he went into shock. And we had our issues."

Among them, she says, "I'd say 'No' to something, and he'd book it anyway. Then I'd have to do it because I'd look bad (if I didn't)."

Admitting she and her father "would fight sometimes," the singer says that it "took about two years, to when I was 20, for him to realize, 'Oh, she is an adult now, and if she doesn't wanna do something, I can't make her do it.' "

Knowles, who's usually mum about boyfriend Jay-Z, also comments about their relationship, saying, "It's very easy. He's so quick. And we respect each other. If I have any suggestions he respects it. If he has any suggestions, I respect it. It's just, I don't know, easy. And fun."

                                Jessica Reveals Her 'Affair'

Jessica Simpson hits MTV with the video for "A Public Affair" on Wednesday. PEOPLE takes a look at the pop diva's clip plus other events to watch for in the coming week:

SUNDAY, JULY 16: Lance Armstrong is the first athlete to take center stage as the host of the ESPY Awards, airing live on ESPN (9 p.m. ET). "People like Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson have done it – pros – so it's tough company to follow. Let's just hope I don't butcher it," the cyclist tells PEOPLE. He'll get some help from some famous friends: pal Jake Gyllenhaal will be a presenter.

MONDAY, JULY 17: Daniel Powter, whose "Bad Day" became one of American Idol's anthems, is hitting the road for his first U.S. tour. The nationwide jaunt kicks off at Philadelphia's Theatre of Living Arts.

TUESDAY, JULY 18: Another crop of singing wannabes will compete for a major recording contract in The One: Making a Music Star. The premise: 11 contestants attend an L.A. music academy where they'll train with professionals while cameras follow them around 24-7 as they bicker, find love and try to sing their way to stardom. Think of it as American Idol meets The Real World (ABC at 9 p.m. ET).

WEDNESDAY, JULY 19: The video for Jessica Simpson's first single "A Public Affair" hits the airwaves. The pop diva, who filmed part of the video at a Los Angeles roller rink, enlisted a cadre of her celeb gal pals – including Eva Longoria, Christina Milian and Christina Applegate – to costar in the 1980s-themed clip.
