Listen here pal if you call urself iranian or a persian i am truly disgusted. Just because of the islamic regime - which isnt actuali islamic at all, islam is being abused - you loose your head and allow these shit western ideas to circle in your brain. How can any decent human being justify a gay relationship when it is blatantly going against nature and when it subverts God's will. I understand that as boys and girls reach puberty they may begin experiencing certain feelings but it is only in the west that these feelings are picked up on because of the culture here.An English boy may go to his father and confess he is feeling sexually attracted to boys - the father will then say well if your gay your gay it does not matter to me, me and your mum still love you. Whereas a correct persian would explain that this is perfectly normal to be having feelings and he would help his son to get out of the problem. I am not racist. i am not sexist but i am certainly homophobic. so if you are a *** then do not dare to call your self a persian - attitudes like that are destroying the memory of persia. We are a distinguished race so be proud of your originalty - book your ideas up.

Oh wow, The Memory of Persia? Excuse me but that was the most narrow minded load of BULL SHIT i'v heard this year. If Persia was truly a "distinguished" race then it would let Western Culture influence its ideas and be more open minded to issues like homosexuality. Like it or not Western Culture is spreading far faster into the new generation then "Middle Eastern" culture whatever you call it. Your views on Gays is completly wrong and should be laughed at. A correct Persian? You can't make some "get out" of there feelings for the same sex. You might get them to lie to themselves and FORCE them to like the oppisite sex. But never completly loose all interest.

**** Even the Shah tried to bring Western Culture to Iran. And its such a shame that once again Iranians as usual destroyed such a good thing. Now they are finally regretting it.

And don't you sare bring up the "originality" of Iran because when the Persian Empire was ruled by the likes of Daruis homosexuality wasn't even a problem.

I always wondered why Iranians are so backward; especially when 2500 years ago their civilization was better and more advanced than any other on earth. It it because they have accept the BS thoughts and philosphies of other idiots and evolved into a group of conservative religious-minded people. Back in the day when Iranians were discovering mathematics, sciences, writing poetry, and creating art they did not let the backward thoughts of others inhibit them nor did they let religion get in the way. Look at Omar Khayyam, an Iranian, mathematician, GREAT poet, astronomer, and philosopher all in one. He was a muslim but didn't give a damn what others thought, drinking, going out with women, and thinking for himself.
For me personally visualizing gays kissing and hugging is wrong and sick, being totally straight. But if other men want to be gay it is none of my business. Being gay is normal within a population. Unless your forced to behave gaily (like the Greeks did) people should have a choice. You, like me, may not be able to fully understand it but dont let lack of understanding inhibit you. For them visualizing a man and a woman making out is just as inunderstandable as for you thinking of a man and a man. For me being gay and having a union is not wrong for those who are naturally like that. However I do think gays adopting children is wrong.

You say children need a MOTHER and FATHER. Well if thats the case then Single Parents shouldn't be allowed children either.

You say Homosexual parents wouldn't be able to give the child everything he needs. It is a proven fact that Homosexual couples make more money then striaght couples do . And if thats not enough proof my uncle is a real estate agent. He says he hasn't met a gay couple who need loans ..ect. he says they all pay CASH and all of them have bought houses over 300,000 only after the first year together.

I am strongly against homosexuality..It goes against my morals, values, beliefs, religion, and I find it to be very disgusting. I don't buy the psychological issues crap about homosexuals. I think it is an option..people are not born like that. If God wanted us to be homos, don't you think God would've made it possible for homos to have children? Has that thought ever occurred to any of you? Another thing is that more and more people are "coming out of the closet" these days..at this rate, the human race will be extinct pretty soon.

WHY?! Why do people insist that the only way God accepts you is if you are able to have babies..ect. THERE is more to the world then having babies. That's part of reproduction.. If God really didn't want Gay's to exist then he wouldn't give Gays/Lesbians the ability to have babies. You all forget that fact that GAYS and LESBIANS can still have babies.

If God is so powerful in your world then maybe every gay person that is born should be born without the ability to create sperm/egg. THEN you can say God doesn't like them. Until then I know many Gay couples who donate to sperm banks, help Women who want a baby..ect.

What How does the Quran allow pedophiling? You read into things wrongly. The Quran says that the creator made a man for every woman. If an older man marries a 9 year old is the the 9 year old ready for him? or made for him? NO Just like the muslims who practice polygamy. The Quran says that not only must you find both wives attractive, you must love them exactly the same. Can that happen yes. Does it happen often, no, most muslims ignore this part of the Quran.\. And I never said you were a bad soul. It's just that Allah has made a man for every woman. Sex was made to be between a man and his wife. Is it okay to love a man who are not related to you as a friend? Yes but you should not marry them and breach Allah's rules by sleeping with another man. What is funny is that I really don't blame them that much for being ignorant. They just can't help it. It is basically their upbringing. Iranian culture is homophobic, well the present Iranian culture..the one that has in influenced by religion. People learn by what others tell them, and if they surround themselves by homophobic and ignorance and hatred, they will be the same way.

It's a shame really, but sadly that is the way the world work. I guess it's up to people like you and me to try to show them the right way to treat other human beings.

i am not gay but i am truly disgusted by the ignorance and lack of tolerance that i see as i am reading what some people wrote. i thought that being iranians and shiite muslims we would be more open -- more considerate and more loving. when i see the way people discriminate against others for stupid reasons, i am offended. i know firsthand the affects that disrimination has on individuals and i know that almost all of you can relate. i was disciminated against b/c i am iranian and muslim. how you can wish that on any other human being i can not and will never understand. we are all equal and were created equal in the eyes of god. God does not discriminate and neither shoul we. we should love one another in the same way hat god loves each and every one of us. homosexulaity has nothing to do with western culture . . . it has existed for many years, since the beginning of time, in iran too. only then our eyes were closed to it. we must work together to stop all of this discrimination; unless we all walk forward together as the human race, we will all move backwards. we cannot accept that.

i am truly disappointed. nowing my own personal experiences with discrimination for being iranian and muslim (of all reasons), i can only guess at what some of you have been unfortunate to experience. i thought that experiencing such things would open our eyes.
