IRNA - TEHRAN, Iran's international forward Mehdi Mahdavikia voiced anger after Hamburger SV sports manager Dietmar Beiersdorfer and coach Thomas Doll told him he could leave the club this summer, the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper has reported.

"I have a contract until the year 2007. And I would like to stay here. I have signed the contract here. I cannot take a new decision every day. This is not a kindergarten here ...," Mahdavikia was reported as saying on Monday after his meeting with Beiersdorfer and Doll.

Both HSV officials have reportedly told the speedy Iranian right winger that he could depart the team, citing his mostly poor performances this season.

"He can seek a new challenge because it seems like this challenge at our club is not big enough for him," Beiersdorfer said.

HSV's team management had indicated earlier that they want to trade Mahdavikia at the end of this season, in a bid to free money for new star player signings.

The north German team club hopes to get Mahdavikia off its payroll in an effort to lure new star players like Ajax Amsterdam's Rafael van der Vaart or Argentine international Andres d'Alessandro.

Mahdavikia who is in his sixth HSV season, earns around 2.3 million euros a year.
